Early Career Framework Facilitators

Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub has chosen UCL as our Lead Partner to deliver the fully funded ECF programme, which is available free of charge to all schools in our Hub area.

The ECF programme will be delivered through a cluster model to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) from September 2022.

Who should apply?

We welcome applications from experienced teachers, middle leaders, senior leaders and ITT/ECF mentors, who understand the Early Career Framework and its intention to support Early Career Teacher development.

What does the role involve?

Early Career Framework facilitators will be working with Early Career Teachers in the first two years of their teaching career, delivering a series of face-to-face and online sessions using materials prepared as part of the UCL Early Career Teacher Programme

Time commitment and start date

We expect to need lead facilitators for about 8.5 days a year (this includes time for planning), working with both ECTs and mentors, and including time spent training for the facilitator role itself. A typical face-to-face session lasts two hours, online sessions last one hour and sessions will be spread across the school year.

All materials for the sessions are supplied by UCL, therefore there will not be excessive preparation time involved.

All ECF facilitators will need to be available for a training day in the Summer Term and ready to start the role in September 2022.

What CPD benefits are there to becoming an ECF facilitator?

  • An understanding of excellent practice in leading adult learning.
  • An understanding of how evidence-based practice can be used to develop ECT professional development.
  • An in-depth understanding of the new statutory requirements for the registration, induction, mentoring and assessment requirements, as regulated and quality assured by the new Appropriate Bodies for ECF.

Payment

Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub will pay trained facilitators for each professional development session or programme at a rate of £350 per day.
