Testimonials

I found the NPQLT experience to be positive. It was useful to discuss strategies towards leadership with other professionals in a similar point in their career. I was able to reflect upon my professional practice and implement a project to develop my leadership skills. On a professional level I am more confident in implementing the roll out of new approaches in school. I also have a better understanding of how to ensure a new approach has longevity with the help of collegiality.

I enjoyed the face-to-face sessions, I feel I have really got to know the colleagues that I got to work with on the course and I think it has been really worthwhile model. I have really enjoyed having the time to explore the research and having the space to be able to reflect on it in the sessions, then think about the application towards my own daily practice. I would recommend the programme to others.

 (NPQ Leading Teacher Development 2023)

The NPQ programme was useful and enjoyable. It provided an opportunity to develop academic professional knowledge and understanding but also reflect on work – away from work.

The modules increased in intensity – earlier modules covered aspects of senior leadership which we were likely to have direct responsibility for (with some that we wouldn’t to increase scope) but by module 3 there was a level of unfamiliarity and challenge which felt as though we were being prepared for the next step in our career. Completing this course gave me the confidence to realise that I am ready for headship. The course materials are tailored to the challenges of leadership at deputy and headship level and time spend with primary and secondary colleagues in these roles was invaluable.
