At Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub (TSH), we’re incredibly proud of the partnership we have developed with University College London (UCL) and its Institute of Education (IOE) since the introduction of the early careers framework (ECF) four years ago.

As one of UCL’s delivery partners, we bring its ECT programme to life across Liverpool and the Wirral, enabling early careers teachers (ECTs) to deliver the very best education for all children and young people by equipping them with the latest pedagogical knowledge and practical support.

In June 2025, we had the pleasure of being selected, once again, as a focus delivery partner in UCL’s ECF Ofsted inspection that rated the overall effectiveness of UCL’s ECF programme as ‘outstanding’.

Ofsted visited 10 of UCL’s delivery partners across the country, including us here at Inspire TSH, and carried out focused reviews that included meetings with our team, observing training sessions, holding discussions with ECTs, school leaders, mentors and induction tutors, and evaluating documentation.

The glowing report said: “The collaborative, locally contextualised delivery model is a standout feature. UCL IOE has developed an impressive professional development offer for its delivery partners, programme facilitators and mentors, including the highly regarded ‘art of facilitation’ materials.

“Consequently, expert facilitators teach the programme with fidelity, while precisely tailoring the content to reflect local communities and needs. Skilful mentors engage in meaningful and developmental conversations with their mentees. As a result, ECTs apply the richness of their learning in a nuanced way to meet the needs of their pupils.”

The report also highlighted the role delivery partners, such as us, play in developing the programme, stating: “Mutual trust between the lead provider and delivery partners fosters a ‘culture of development’ so that leaders’ ambitious vision and aims are fully enacted. Delivery partners welcome having a ‘seat at the table’ to make collaborative decisions in the best interests of ECTs.”

Everything we do at Inspire Learning TSH is always teacher-centred, ensuring as the Department for Education’s (DfE) TSH for Liverpool and Wirral we remain at the core of the ‘golden thread’ model that was designed to deliver world-class teacher development.

Chlöe Allason, a maths teacher at Liverpool Life Sciences UTC, is a prime example of this having successfully completed her statutory induction period in July 2025 and attributing her improved practice to following UCL’s ECF programme delivered by us here at Inspire Learning TSH.

Chlöe is eager to continue developing her knowledge and is about to embark on the NPQLT to learn how to lead the teaching and learning of her subject. You can read more about her story here

If you’re a Liverpool or Wirral school and have employed ECTs for this academic year, look no further than Inspire TSH. You can choose us as your partner for delivery of the ECF programme and we are also an appropriate body too. Registration is open now, so what are you waiting for?
