I have worked in the field of education for 30 years in a variety of professional roles, starting as a secondary school teacher, moving through to become a local authority Education Improvement Officer and then headteacher of a Virtual School for looked after children.
As an NPQ facilitator on both the Leading Behaviour and Culture NPQ and the Senior Leadership NPQ, I enjoy sharing aspects of my leadership and education improvement experience with aspiring leaders. Providing opportunities for participants to reflect, share and develop their skills through their learning journey.

I have spent all my teaching career working in special educational needs. I spent nearly a decade in the largest special school in Liverpool, working my way up from Teaching Assistant to Deputy Headteacher. Here, we catered for the needs of those pupils with an EHCP, diagnosis of Autism and other, additional needs. After completing the NASENCO award and Postgraduate Diploma in SEND, I decided to move over into mainstream education as Assistant Headteacher and SENCO at Notre Dame Catholic College. Here, we rapidly improved the provision for pupils and set up the Award-winning Flourish @ Notre Dame, the only Secondary SEN Unit in Liverpool. This September I moved over to Saint Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic Academy to start a new project of school improvement with regards to SEND, as I believe that if you improve SEN provision in a school, you improve the quality of teaching within the school. I am currently undertaking my NPQH and due to complete this early next year.
