Jane Kennedy has 30 years’ experience as a teacher, leader and trainer. Having worked in a diverse range of schools across this time frame, and holding the National Professional Qualification for Headship, Jane is a dynamic Director of our teaching school hub, recognising that this profession never stands still. In all that she does she strives to deliver the very best education for children and young people using a people centred approach.

Deputy Director
Andy Ash leads the Cheshire and Wirral Maths Hub and has extensive experience working in large, multi-school professional development projects. He has a keen interest in working with teachers at all career stages to help develop research informed practice. This interest in research has led to Andy undertaking a PhD with Cumbria University, where he is focussing upon knowledge practices within our education system, specifically in relation to mathematics teaching.

Teaching School Hub Project Manager
Inspire Learning TSH NW Project Manager has over 30 years’ experience within the private and public sectors across a breadth of industries across the UK including Pharmaceuticals, Engineering, IT, E-commerce, Social Housing to Education. Fiona has risen up through the ranks to Department Manager of Operations and Customer Experience, bringing a vast skill set to the TSH. Fiona first joined the HFCMAT in 2017 in a part-time capacity as PA to Deep Learning Teaching School Alliance, then progressed her career quickly in 2019 to become Maths Hub Coordinator. Progressing again now in 2022 by taking up a full-time role of Project Manager of our new Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub NW.

Vicky is responsible for the strategic and operational direction of our Appropriate Body Service; a function bestowed upon the Hub from September 2023 by the Department for Education. This role engages with schools across the Hub remit to ensure compliance with statutory guidance for Early Career Teachers to complete their statutory induction.

Alex has worked in the field of education for over 30 years in a variety of professional roles. Much of her work has focused supporting teachers and leaders around behaviour, attendance and inclusive practice. Alex enjoys supporting colleagues in their demanding roles, being able to share knowledge, research and practical ideas to help their everyday practice. As a NPQ facilitator for Leading Behaviour and Culture Alex has been impressed by the commitment of the participants and their willingness to share their experiences in the peer learning groups.

Katie has over twenty years experience in secondary education, ten of which have been in senior leadership. Katie has a keen interest in teacher development and has extensive experience in this area. Katie believes teachers are the foundation of our education system therefore the need to ensure teachers are well trained and supported in the early stages of their career is crucial and will ensure we invest in building the strong foundations for a robust education system in the future. As ECF Lead, Katie is eager to ensure all our ECTs are fully supported in developing their practice, knowledge and working habits to ensure a long, successful career in the profession. Katie has studied Applied Positive Psychology and is keen to utilise her knowledge in this field to improve student outcomes and enhance teaching practices using evidence informed research.

Sophie joins us with over 20 years’ experience within the education sector. Sophie’s experience to date includes Library Management, Marketing and events, social media and school website. Sophie has multiple roles across our organisation and joined the Teaching School Hub in July 2023. Sophie is a qualified Business Manager and is our ITT Operational, Compliance and Partnership Lead and AB administrator as well as supporting our ECF Team and STEAM Hub.
