About Us

Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub NW, proudly serving schools, trusts, colleges and local authorities across our region.

As part of the national Teaching School Hub network, we are committed to strengthening the teaching profession by supporting the recruitment, development and retention of high-quality teachers and leaders at every stage of their career. Our core purpose is clear: to champion excellence in education for every child and young person in the communities we serve.

Commissioned by the Department for Education, Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub acts as a local centre of expertise for high-quality professional development. Working alongside 86 hubs across England, we deliver key national programmes, including the Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE; formerly the ECF) and National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), whilst also shaping our support to reflect the needs and strengths of our local schools.

We are proud to work in partnership with University College London (UCL) as our Lead Provider for the ECTE programme and NPQs. UCL is recognised globally for excellence in research and teaching, consistently ranked among the world’s very best universities, reflecting its outstanding academic reputation, impact and international influence. This partnership ensures that participating teachers and leaders benefit from world-class content, cutting-edge research and expert facilitation throughout their professional development journey.

In addition to our programme delivery, Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub also serves as the statutory Appropriate Body for Early Career Teacher induction. We fully took over this responsibility from local authorities in September 2023, ensuring that ECTs across the region receive rigorous, supportive and high-quality monitoring throughout their induction period. Our role safeguards the standards of the profession while providing schools with trusted guidance and expertise.

We also play an active role in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) through our partnership with Liverpool Hope University. Together, we support the development of new entrants to the profession by contributing to high-quality training, placement experiences and mentorship that prepare the next generation of teachers to thrive in our schools and communities.

At Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub, our approach is guided by three core principles:

Inspiring Excellence

We champion continuous improvement in teaching and leadership, promoting innovative practice and supporting schools to make sustained, positive change.

Inspiring Collaboration

We build strong, purposeful partnerships that enable the sharing of expertise and foster a culture of openness, professional curiosity, and collective responsibility.

Inspiring Lifelong Learning

We invest in high-quality professional development that empowers educators—whether new to the profession or experienced leaders—to make a meaningful difference in their schools and communities.

Since the introduction of the ECF reforms and reformed NPQs in 2021, we have supported large numbers of Early Career Teachers, mentors, aspiring leaders and experienced colleagues to develop their practice through nationally recognised, expertly facilitated programmes. Our commitment is unwavering: to provide exceptional training, personalised support and trusted professional guidance that improves outcomes for staff, schools and, ultimately, the pupils we are all here to serve.

Together with our wider network of partners including Research Schools and Curriculum Hubs Inspire Learning Teaching School Hub is dedicated to creating a thriving, expert workforce that is inspired, empowered and equipped to deliver the very best for every learner.
